Besides taking the time to grasp the science, sort results, and form insights, there’s also a never-ending to-do list of tasks to complete, experiments to run, and more. When we add it all up, it can even overwhelm the best of us—and, in the worst case scenarios, something slips through the cracks and we need to start over from square one.
\r\n
LabLog is much more than just an electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) solution. It’s an all-in-one platform that simplifies lab management, integrates analytics, and provides other useful features.
\r\n
In this article, we’re going to go over how our platform assists researchers in scheduling, time management, and similar organizational issues.
\r\n

\r\n
Schedule Experiments and Create Actionable Protocols
\r\n
As soon as you open the LabLog app, you’ll reach a quick access dashboard. This dashboard gives you an overview of all your experiments, including how many are in progress and how many are completed. It also shows how many methods you have performed, scheduled, and in total.
\r\n
By clicking on the experiments tab, you’ll arrive at your experiments schedule. You can use the search bar to find a specific experiment, or you can scroll through to view your entire list.
\r\n
Under each experiment’s header, you’ll see when it was started, and you have the option to edit the experiment, add a reminder, or copy it. It’ll show whether the experiment is in progress or completed, and you can also sort your experiments accordingly.
\r\n
Plus, this page lets you schedule experiments as far in advance as you desire. By looking at your overall experiment schedule, you can plan so as to maximize your equipment usage and your researchers’ time.
\r\n
On the other hand, you can also access the protocols page from the dashboard. Search and select from your list of predetermined protocols or create a new one. From there, you can schedule protocols to apply to your experiments, or, by pressing the ‘Perform’ button, you can view a breakdown of all the steps necessary for completing the method.
\r\n
This integrated UI enables project managers to oversee and coordinate protocols. At the same time, it also assists researchers in completing those methods. This ensures that your team conducts each experiment according to the proper protocol and that nobody ever forgets which steps to take and in what order to do so.
\r\n
Since LabLog is fully functional in offline mode, users can access, modify, and create experiments and protocols from anywhere in the lab, even in areas without an internet connection. Any changes will then automatically synch to the system once they return to a network connection.
\r\n

\r\n
Get Notifications
\r\n
Your phone can remind you when to take out the trash, it tells you when you have a dentist appointment, and now it can also notify you about the workings of your lab. By enabling LabLog notifications on your cellphone, you’ll receive automatic alerts about experiments, protocols, and more.
\r\n
LabLog can send you reminders when an experiment requires an action, when an experiment is successfully completed, when it's time to start a new experiment, and in many other situations that require your attention.
\r\n
Rather than having to rely on timers or memory, the app’s integrated system puts everything at your fingertips so that you’re constantly up-to-date on your lab work.
\r\n
LabLog is the clever lab notes solution because it simplifies your routine and let’s you focus all your attention on what matters most.
","postId":"c16385da-2238-552e-a6d3-6a8bbbfd0da1","seo_title":"Lab Management: Simplified","meta_description":"Anyone who’s run a lab understands that it can be tough to keep track of everything that’s going on at once.","previous":{"id":"bab9847d-dff1-58d7-bd4d-d20c12ea09a1","seo_title":"Work Offline and Synch Later: LabLog Enables Freedom","meta_description":"Our goal is enabling this feature is to give researchers a maximum degree of freedom.","body":"

\r\n
It’s a common frustration for researchers who use electronic lab notebooks (ELNs). All their online notes, protocols, and procedures only extend as far as their internet connection can reach.
\r\n
Though this may not seem like too much of a concern when they sign up—the internet is everywhere after all—they quickly discover just how inconvenient this limitation can be. Especially in labs that feature delicate electronics or quarantined areas, researchers struggle to integrate their offline work with their ELN solutions.
\r\n
That’s why the best online lab notebook also functions offline. LabLog believes that technology should facilitate research, not put a damper on it, and so we’ve created an application that is fully functional in offline mode.
\r\n

\r\n
The Freedom to Move
\r\n
Our goal is enabling this feature is to give researchers a maximum degree of freedom. A digital lab notebook ought to integrate seamlessly with the rest of our systems, and we ought to be able to rely on a single interface to collect data, analyze outcomes, and create documentation—no matter where move.
\r\n
Researchers don’t have to worry about missing data points after removing an online interface from the internet. Completing a difficult task and then realizing that our ELN wasn’t able to record any of it is a truly maddening experience.
\r\n
Instead, researchers can simply carry their mobile devices with them, do their work, and store their information on their local device. They can take pictures, write notes, and more.
\r\n
Then, when they return to a network service area, LabLog automatically synchs their data with the entire lab’s database. This unique feature also minimizes risk of data loss because it provides cloud storage backups.
\r\n
Because this process is entirely automated, users also don’t have to worry about forgetting to upload when they’re done. The software takes care of everything.
\r\n
Are you ready to upgrade your lab to a fully integrated ELN solution?
","title":"Work Offline and Synch Later: How LabLog Enables Freedom in Research","slug":"work-offline-and-synch-later-how-lablog-enables-freedom-in-research"},"next":{"id":"6be77d88-2205-5b55-a663-d4e952bc5fc8","seo_title":"Feature Showcase: Document Review and Approval","meta_description":"There’s a lot that goes into running a successful laboratory, and there’s even more that goes into staying FDA 21 CFR 11 compliant.","body":"
There’s a lot that goes into running a successful laboratory, and there’s even more that goes into staying FDA 21 CFR 11 compliant. LabLog’s mission is to make sure that it’s a little bit easier.
\r\n
Document review and approval is crucial for highly regulated environments like biotech and pharma. Oftentimes, we need to make sure that the right people sign off before we can take our work any further.
\r\n
When this becomes a problem, however, is when we search everywhere and still can’t find the person that we need. Maybe the project manager is working remotely, or perhaps they’re just out for lunch. Either way, if we can’t get their signature, then we’re stuck in a holding pattern.
\r\n
These delays disrupt our schedules, force us into awkward situations, and, ultimately, affect our bottom lines. The creators of LabLog were tired of dealing with these frustrations.
\r\n

\r\n
Electronic Document Approval
\r\n
To simplify and streamline this entire process, we’ve integrated electronic document approval into our comprehensive electronic lab notebook. We made sure to include this feature in our ELN because we understand what it takes to manage and efficient lab.
\r\n
Researchers can create and upload documents in LabLog in order to send them for review to whomever they wish or whenever they need to gain approval. Our secure, encrypted tunnels prevent unauthorized users from accessing data, while our automatic time-stamp generators provide a full audit trail.
\r\n
Regardless of their physical location, so long as they’re connected to the internet and they’ve enabled LabLog notifications, the recipient can review and approve documents in real-time. This simplifies logistics, saves time, and enables new forms of collaboration.
\r\n
These features give you the security that you need to stay FDA compliant and the convenience that you need to keep your lab running like a well-oiled machine.
\r\n

\r\n

\r\n

","title":"Feature Showcase: Document Review and Approval","slug":"feature-showcase-document-review-and-approval"}}},"staticQueryHashes":["3128451518"]}
